Gleeson approved to build new homes in Chopwell
205 new homes on Moorland View in Chopwell, Tyne and Wear
Gateshead based housebuilder Gleeson has been given permission to build 205 new homes on Moorland View in Chopwell, Tyne and Wear. The vacant piece of land will soon become a mixture of spacious 2, 3 and 4 bedroom semi and detached homes, anticipated to start from £104,995. The Government backed Help to Buy scheme will ensure that many of these homes will be cheaper to buy than local rent levels.
Ed Alder, Operations Director for Gleeson said:
We’re delighted that we have been given the go ahead to develop the site. I think local people will be pleased to hear that our new homes are extremely affordable, in most cases it’s cheaper to buy than to rent.
Following Gleeson receiving permission to build 205 new homes, the housebuilder has agreed to make a significant contribution towards offsite ecology enhancement and highway and traffic improvements.
Gleeson is looking for reliable, reputable labour and sub-contractors to work on these exciting new homes, including applications from local young people who are interested in the Gleeson Apprenticeship Scheme.
Gleeson work closely with local schools and the communities in which they build, this involves inviting junior sports teams to apply for sponsorship, Design a Bedroom competitions and other initiatives in the local community such as the YourWatch scheme, Gleeson’s own online alternative to Neighbourhood Watch.
