In acknowledgment of the work our Armed Forces do to keep our country safe, we’re delighted to offer a number of incentives and schemes to help make homeownership more affordable and accessible.
Forces Help to Buy Scheme
As of 1st January 2023, the Forces Help to Buy Scheme (FHTB) became a permanent incentive to those working in the Armed Forces. FHTB is backed by the Government, with the aim to help British Armed Forces personnel on their journey to affordable homeownership.
The scheme allows service personnel to borrow up to 50% of their annual salary (up to a maximum of £25,000), interest free, towards the purchase of a new home.
Who is eligible?
Regular Service Personnel who have more than six months left of service, have completed the pre-requisite length of service, and meet the right medical categories at the time of application. Your marital/civil partnership status does not apply.
However, there may be exceptions to this criteria, especially where there are special medical and personal circumstances.

How do I apply?
An online application will need to be submitted through the Joint Personnel Administration portal.

- As a key worker, Gleeson will also give you £1,500 towards your options and extras when you reserve your new home.
The £1,500 towards options and extras offer is available to Key Workers (including those working in Armed Forces) from the 1st January 2023. Gleeson’s contribution will be agreed upon reservation, with the maximum value of this offer being £1,500. This offer will be provided in the form of a voucher to be used towards options and extras. Options and extras are subject to availability and build stage. The offer is available per plot, not per named purchaser and subject to contract. This offer excludes veterans. Gleeson reserves the right to amend, alter, or withdraw the promotion at any time. This offer does not apply to shared ownership or discount market sale properties and cannot be used in conjunction with any other Gleeson offer or incentive unless specifically authorised by Gleeson in its absolute discretion (and subject to lender approval, which may include a minimum buyer contribution).
